The Real Middle-earth

Both of my top 2 destinations in the same year? Yes please.

Not only was I able to visit England, but I had the opportunity to take a trip to New Zealand this fall. And what a trip it was! Words don't do any justice to this gem, and photos only get a glimpse of its beauty and majesty. One of the few instances I would use the word 'epic' and mean it in all its connotation.

There is plenty of geekiness too because we definitely scoped out lots of Middle-earth movie filming locations, the most magical being Hobbiton of course.
